Coral Teapot

Coral

Coral is a handmade teapot inspired by the intricate forms and textures of sea corals. The single handle allows the teapot to be held from all directions, overhead, from the left or from the right, reflecting the many ways different cultures handle a teapot. An indent at the back of the body allows the teapot to be pinched and lifted. The design of the lid is integrated into the handle, so the lines flow around the whole form. Coral is made of coil-constructed, altered, carved and textured earthenware, finished with shino glaze and fired in oxidation.

UnBespoke Table Top Object

UnBespoke

UnBespoke is a modular tabletop object made from Indiana limestone. Four triangulated stone pieces are designed to hold tea light candles or small plants. The pieces can be arranged as a square, as an equilateral triangle, or in other formations chosen by the user. The design stems from the Haberdasher Puzzle, a mathematical problem that shows how to cut a square into pieces that form an equilateral triangle. When the pieces are rotated, the undulated interior edges of the square appear on the perimeter of the triangle. The object is modelled in 3D and cut by CNC machining.
