The Yangtze

The first of its kind, K11 is brand of premium shopping malls that merges retail and fine arts. For their Wuhan opening, Blue Mount won the bid to create an eye-catching, one-of-a-kind art piece to be suspended in the atrium of the main West entrance. The birth of The Yangtze came from a concept inspired by the rich historical and geological background of this capital city. Weighing 3 tonnes, the artwork mimics flows of the famed river, finished in gold and silver for a touch of luxury.

Octagon

Octagon: Inspired by Bagua evolved from Tai Chi, Yin Yang and Wu Xing. Through the structural intersection of wood block, metal buckle, the delicate relationship between points, lines and the surface is displayed. Wu Xing represents the five elements (metal, wood, water, fire, earth), heartily experienced through a balanced composition of crafted material making up the Octagon lamp.

Kime Old Vase

The Kime Old Vase intended for the author to see the experiences of the author dying the time to death and the traces of that fact. He defined Kime that the labor consuming human death was visually appearing. Generally in Japan, Kime represents organic heterogeneous on the surface such as the skin of a tree or the human skin. In order to express Kime, he broke the existing vase and reconstruct it by Kintsugi, which is an adhesion act.

Intertidal Deployment Objects

Intertidal Deployment Objects collaborate with the marine environment to generate dynamic ceramic surfaces. The designers were excited to work with barnacles, as they are capable of creating uniquely complex and beautiful shells. The concept was to design a modular system of interchangeable ceramic forms that promote barnacle growth. Some sections were submerged into the ocean to grow marine life. Months later, after the barnacles had grown, these components were removed from the ocean and reassembled into completed pieces.

The Eyes is a flower stand for all occasions. The oval body is gold-foiled with irregular openings as human eyes that are always seeking for wonderful things in the Mother Nature. The stand behaves like a philosopher. It cherishes natural beauty and shows up the entire world for you before or after you light it up.
