Thank You Bouquet

The Thank You Bouquet is a site specific bamboo art installation composed of 180 handwoven floral forms. The flowers measure between 600 and 1200 millimetres in diameter and are made with traditional Taiwanese bamboo weaving techniques. High tensile bamboo strips are processed, steamed and woven into petals, while a modular framework provides strength and allows transport and reassembly. The posts were made by bonding pre-cut plexiglass panels with acrylic cement to achieve clean edges without visible glue marks. Each post rests on a concrete base placed within the shallow water. Daylight and moving water pass through the coloured surfaces and create changing reflections. Visitors experience the shifting colours simply by walking around the fountain.
