ksd-1, Horizon

KSD-1 is a modern classic lounge chair whose design was based on vintage racecars. The composition is constructed as a vintage race car, where the main part is the chassis (to which a body and accessories are attached). The chair´s main aesthetics is the body shape, which can be materially customized to the client’s preference. The standard materials are paint-coated sheet metal and satin finished wood panels. The upholstery follows traditional racing patterns from early racecars.

pattern of tree

A proposition of partition that utilize conifer parts inefficiently; that is, the slender part of the trunk’s upper half and the irregular shaped part of the roots. I paid attention to the organic annual rings. The overlapping organic patterns of the partition created a comfortable rhythm in an inorganic space. In researching this work I am fascinated by geometric patterns in three dimensional structures and see great potential applications in contemporary architecture

Wink

This ephemeral architecture is the common ground between architecture and art. This unique work, exhibited at the Kobe Biennial 2013 in Japan, has been designed to please the eye and meet easy-assembly requirements, zipping any of it's components to the next one making a perfect art piece that changes as you walk inside of it. The relationship between the structure itself and the visitors is quite close, since anyone can open or close any of its parts as if it was a window. The intention of this work is to show anyone how architecture can be also, lightweight and mobile.

The project is a sequence of digital paintings of the Scarlet Ibis and its natural environment, with special emphasis on color and their vibrant hue that intensifies as the bird grows. The work develops amongst natural surroundings combining real and imaginary elements that provide unique features. The scarlet ibis is a native bird of South America that lives on the coasts and marshes of northern Venezuela and the vibrant red color constitutes a visual spectacle for the viewer. This design aims to highlight the graceful flight of the scarlet ibis and the vibrant colors of the tropical fauna.
