Evolve

Evolve is a cosmic kaleidoscope that changes colors as viewers walk by. At dawn, Evolve refracts sunlight into a dichromatic rainbow throughout the lobby of Leidos Inc. Visitors are welcomed in with playful colored shadows that move throughout the day. Evolve is gracefully suspended by aircraft cable, and uses NASA developed dichroic Plexiglas to create a space age feel. The sculptures apex features a Penrose triangle proving that this once thought impossible object can, in fact, exist.

Supplement of Original

White veins in river stones lead to random patterns on the surfaces. The selection of certain river stones and their arrangement transforms these patterns into symbols, in form of Latin letters. This is how words and sentences are created when stones are in the right position next to each other. Language and communication arise and their signs become a supplement to what is already there.

Return

The symbolic meaning of rooster culture has appeared in their respective countries and nations, symbolizing the totalitarianism of patriarchal society and the fearless, arrogant and untouchable leader temperament. The light is then directed onto the mirrors. A simple pull on the chain causes eight wheels to move simultaneously to change the direction of the light from the wall onto the floor.

Watage

Arisa Nakayama's work, Watage, aims to visualize the subtle motion of air. The main material utilized to create Watage is light and delicate dandelion puff which flutters as viewers pass by. This principle gives birth to an interactive experience without objects being animated by modern technology or electricity. Nakayama's ambition in this project is to go beyond the work’s aesthetic value of a small craft object, and lead the viewers to apperceive their own existence with refreshed clarity.

The Fire of Holy Spirit

Metamorphosing between visible and invisible, the Spirit of God is manifested in a variety of forms, as the blazing “fire” represents the true form of the visual description of Holy Spirit. It is not only a reflection of God’s absolute holiness and righteousness, but also a special token for God’s covenant with his children. It is symbolic of the glory of God’s judgment too holy to be beheld, while shedding light on the fact that only after going through the trial by fire could people aspire to be worthy of the crown of life.
